Do you think about money constantly??
You might be obsessed with money....if you think about it all the time.
Is every decision you make based on money?
Your brain is up at night—and honestly, most of the day—doing mental gymnastics, trying to figure out how to pay the bills, retire, make ends meet, or calculate how many clients you need to see to make a certain amount of money.
You don’t take vacations or days off.
You hoard money.
If money, or the lack of it, is what you think about most, you’re obsessed.
The word obsessed means: to preoccupy or fill the mind of (someone) continually, intrusively, and to a troubling extent.
Note the word: troubling.
Obsession is toxic and unhealthy.
Obsession usually comes from the belief that something—or someone—is going to fill an emptiness within you. That having it will finally make you feel loved, secure, worthy, or wanted.
Have you ever been in a relationship where either you were obsessed with someone else, or they were obsessed with you?
At first, it might feel exciting. But eventually, it veers into Fatal Attraction territory, where someone’s bunny is getting boiled—or you’re the one boiling it. 😳
Neither side of that equation feels good.
Same goes for money obsession.
You’re living in a state of nervous system contraction, and it doesn’t feel good.
Underneath the obsession is a stressed system: fear and scarcity—disguised as desire or longing for something “good.” Just like a toxic love match, it’s not about what it seems on the surface.
And here’s the truth: while paying attention to what you want can help it grow, the energy of obsession repels it.
According to the law of attraction, you need to be in alignment to receive your desires. But obsession activates your fight-or-flight system and pulls you out of alignment.
Can you still make things happen while being obsessed? Sure.
But you’ll likely build a life or business that feels like a trap. You’ll paint yourself into a financial corner that’s hard to escape. And you’ll keep chasing that elusive feeling that money was supposed to give you.
So… what would you pay attention to if you weren’t obsessed with money?
Pay attention to that.
Focus on the feeling you think money is going to give you—and start cultivating it now.
Take a moment to reflect: What do you actually value? Are you living in alignment with those values? If not, start there.
Because when you stop obsessing about money, your nervous system softens.
And everything begins to change...including your financial situation.
PS-If you’re ready to stop spinning in scarcity, overthinking every dollar, and trying to figure out when you will be financially secure...
