Spiritual Alignment Doesn’t Guarantee Wealth: A Healthier Relationship with Money

Lately, I’ve been thinking about a message that shows up a lot in spiritual and coaching spaces.

It goes something like this:

If you’re truly aligned, the money will flow.

And if the money isn’t flowing?

Well… then you must be doing something wrong.

You must not be aligned enough. Not healed enough. Not spiritual enough.

Something must be wrong with you.

It's just simply not true.

Some people do deep inner work, and their income grows dramatically.

Some people do deep inner work, and what grows instead is peace:

  • Better relationships.

  • More clarity.

  • A calmer nervous system.

  • A life that feels good to be in.

Sometimes money grows, too.

Sometimes what grows is simply the feeling that you will be okay.

TRUST grows.

And that is abundance.

One of the biggest shifts I see when women begin healing their relationship with money is this:

They stop using money to regulate their nervous system.

Before that shift, money tends to run the emotional show.

Some people hold onto it tightly because they are afraid of losing it.

Others spend compulsively because spending brings relief.

Both are forms of regulation.

Both are attempts to feel safe.

But as you start to feel calmer inside, something shifts.

Saving no longer feels restrictive.

Spending no longer feels compulsive.

Money doesn’t feel so scary.

You’re simply okay with who you are and what you have.

Spending no longer feels compulsive.

Money doesn't feel scary.

Suddenly, you are ok with exactly who you are and what you have.

Money becomes a tool instead of a regulator.

That’s a very different relationship.

And it also changes how we think about abundance.

The truth is, money is not the only measure of how well a life is going.

You can still want things. You can still grow a business. You can still build wealth. You can still have financial goals.

You’re no longer chasing money as proof that you’re doing life correctly or that you’ve reached some spiritual pinnacle where wealth starts flowing like wine at the wedding in Cana.

You’re simply living.

And from that place, money often flows more easily.

But the real shift isn’t the number.

It’s that you’re no longer using money to prove you’re okay.

If this resonates with you, the deeper work we do inside Awakened Wealth explores the emotional and unconscious patterns shaping your relationship with money.
