Your Unconscious Money Beliefs Are Running Your Life
All day long, you are thinking.
Thinking. Thinking. Thinking.
Researchers estimate we have somewhere around 60,000 thoughts per day, and most of them are the same thoughts we had yesterday.
And most of those thoughts? Negative (like 80%!).
Which means all day long, your mind is repeating stories, fears, assumptions, and beliefs that shape how you experience your life…especially around money.
Your thoughts become the lens through which you see the world.
And most of those thoughts didn’t start with you.
They came from your childhood.
Your family.
Your culture.
Your nervous system.
Your lived experiences.
The things you heard your parents say over and over again.
Or the things you absorbed without anyone ever saying a word.
Things like:
“There’s never enough.”
“We’re going to run out of money.”
“Money is hard to make.”
“You can’t trust people with money.”
“I can’t spend money because something bad might happen.”
“I’m not smart enough to charge that.”
“I’ll feel safe once I have more.”
A mantra is simply something repeated over and over again.
Ideally, a mantra is intentional. Grounding. Supportive. Healing.
But most people already have a money mantra.
It’s just unconscious.
And because it’s unconscious, it quietly shapes:
how you spend,
how you save,
how you receive,
how you charge,
how you avoid,
how you panic,
how you overwork,
and how you feel every time you look at your bank account.
So…
What is your unconscious money mantra?
What is the story your mind keeps repeating about money?
And more importantly: is it helping you create the life you want?
Because awareness is powerful.
But sometimes awareness alone is not enough.
Most money mindset work teaches you to “pick a better thought.”
And honestly? That can help.
I love mantras. I give them to my clients all the time.
But some beliefs are deeper than mindset.
They were wired into your nervous system through fear, stress, shame, unpredictability, or survival.
That was true for me.
For years, one thought ran through my system constantly:
“We are going to run out of money.”
I knew I was thinking it.
I journaled about it.
I tried to reframe it.
I tried gratitude.
I tried “higher vibe” thinking.
But underneath it all, my body still believed I wasn’t safe.
That’s why deeper work matters.
Because sometimes the goal is not just changing the thought.
It’s changing the emotional imprint underneath the thought.
This is where Brainspotting and nervous system work become so powerful.
We stop asking:
“What’s wrong with me?”
And we start getting curious.
We start feeling into the body and befriending the “negative” belief instead of trying to force it away.
We start asking:
Where did this come from?
How is this belief trying to protect me?
What is my body afraid will happen if I let this thought go?
And sometimes you figure out exactly where it came from.
Sometimes you don’t.
You don’t always have to know the origin story for your nervous system to shift.
But once your nervous system stops constantly expecting the worst…
You can actually think a new thought.
Not just repeat it while secretly not buying into it…but actually believe it.
This is the work we do inside Awakened Wealth.
Not just changing your thoughts about money…but changing the emotional and unconscious patterns underneath them so your relationship with money can finally feel calmer, safer, and more expansive.
So today, start here:
What is your unconscious money mantra?
And what would change if you no longer believed it?
